The Oldest Bilateral Chamber of Commerce in Nigeria
The Nigerian-American Chamber of Commerce (NACC) was founded in October 1960 — the same year Nigeria gained independence. As the oldest bilateral chamber of commerce in Nigeria, it was established to promote trade, investment, and business relationships between the United States and Nigeria. The NACC Texas is a proud affiliate of this 66-year-old institution.
Founded at Nigeria's Independence
The Nigerian-American Chamber of Commerce was established in October 1960, coinciding with Nigeria's independence. Built to foster trade and investment between the US and Nigeria, it became the foundational institution for bilateral commerce between the two nations.
Official Inauguration by Nigeria's Vice President
In 2016, the Vice President of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, officially inaugurated the Texas Chapter — a landmark moment that strengthened economic and business ties between Nigeria and the United States, and cemented NACC Texas as a premier bilateral business institution.
Re-Energized by Houston's Mayor
In 2025, Houston Mayor John Whitmire participated in a landmark event to re-energize the Texas Chamber. The ceremony underscored the critical importance of NACC Texas to the Houston business community and its role in fostering powerful international partnerships.
